2023 eLTER Grand Campaign
Photography, video and drone coverage of the work of research stations in 22 countries of the European Long-Term Ecosystem Research Network eLTER.
The Integrated European Long-Term Ecosystem, critical zone and socio-ecological Research Infrastructure (eLTER) consists of over 600 sites and platforms in 26 countries, 114 research performing organisations and thousands of scientists.
eLTER offers harmonized and standardized data, services and training useful to policymakers, experts, businesses and citizens in their joint efforts to support sustainable solutions to major societal challenges such as: climate change, biodiversity loss, soil degradation, pollution and soil erosion, the unsustainable use of resources in terrestrial, freshwater and transitional aquatic ecosystems.
eLTER's unique socio-ecological approach meets the challenge of understanding the complex interaction between humans and nature over the long term through state-of-the-art research infrastructure, collaborative culture and transdisciplinary expertise.
After six months of preparation, we started the so-called Grand Campaign which covered over 30 sites/platforms in 23 countries for just 100 days. The aim is to provide over 1,200 drone and camera images of the landscape, equipment, scientific teams in action, flora and fauna. As well as 48 drone and camera videos of the science stations and interviews with their teams in 20 languages.
